Full retirement age is  loosely defined as the age you are entitled to receive full social security benefits.<\/p>\n

Here are the child support factors<\/a>.  The court determines when child support ends–defined as emancipation.  Currently New Jersey defaults to ending support when the child reaches the age of nineteen (19) pursuant to a new law passed in 2017.  See N.J.S.A. 2A:17-56.67-56.73.  Deciding which parent pays for private school and\/or college tuition, room and board may also be a contentious issue.<\/p>\n

Custody is divided into two categories: legal custody and physical custody.  Here are the factors<\/a> the court reviews in a custody dispute.  Parenting time and sharing holidays may need to be specified in writing. Removing a child from the State of New Jersey on a permanent basis requires the consent of the other parent or an order of the Court.<\/p>\n

Equitable distribution<\/a> is another hotly contested area.  Is there a marital home or other real estate to be divided?  What about savings, investments, retirement including 401(k)’s and pensions? If one spouse owns a business, that asset can be in the mix.  The court has a set of factors<\/a> to analyze.<\/p>\n
